season over? I think so……..

Within 10 days Arsenal have seen hopes dashed. Their recent inability to find the back of the opponents net along with a propensity to screw up in front of thie own goal has see them drop out of the FA cup, lose in the final of the League cup and fail to reach the quarter finals of the Champions League, and if Arsene seriously thinks they can now focus on the title he is in serious denial.

Tonights game once again saw Arsenal dominate a side that sets its stall out to defend but fail to capitalise on the chances given to them. Even Thiery failed to impress and was clearly carrying an injury, I’m really not sure as to why it was nesccesary to bring him on and risk yet further time on the treatment bench? It wasn’t that the team were failing to make  chances, they just failed to convert them, I thought The Beast looked threatening, and didn’t think he was the one to come off.

Without, Rosicky & RVP it is difficult to see where the goals are going to come from? Surely we must strengthen the  attack in the summer if we are to challenge for honours next year? The current squad of young players even next year at an average age of about 22 is going to be too inexperienced, there needs to be a better balance, a bit more resilience and host of goal scorers throughout the team.

Let’s hope this team has the reserves to dig deep and make sure we take 3rd place in the prem. Come on Arsene, tell the fans what they want to hear, see something for a change and say we just aren’t good enough, no more excuses please……

Looking forward to another day of grief in the office tomorrow……………..not

  1. we are stupid; ade couldn;t score 1-on-1; cesc always in inches away when shooting; Hleb always lost the ball somehow and this costed us eventually. Of course, why on earth did Lehman dash out and get caught in no man’s land; would have been a routine catch if he stayed back! Just stupid.

  3. Please please please Wenger come out and say that we arent good enough yet. No excuses. We lost out to a team who were really really poor with one decent player (Alex). No better than Reading. Gone are the days that my non-Gooner mates wanted to leave the pub as it was a non-contest after we scored after about 10 mins, thus the start of an anhililation. Everyone can see the faults Arsene, so why cant you? I love everything that you have done for the club but you must see that 1) we need a finisher, 2) we need to practice set pieces and 3) we need some experience in the team in the crucial positions. Ok the likes of Diaby and Denilson might be stunted but i dont really care about their career progression when they could leave at any time. i want some trophies to back up the hype!

  4. I will not be sorry if that is the last time we see Henry in an Arsenal shirt. He spent one of his two pages in tonight’s programme complaining about people who have accused him of being simply crap rather thn injured. Well Thierry, I read that and guess what – I think you’re crap rather than injured. Take a pay cut or take a hike.

Next season is already probably a write-off as well, as we will be bedding in a new lead striker and goalkeeper as essentials and presumably Wenger is also going to buy an experienced defender as well (he keeps saying so). So another season of transition even if we do finally spend some cash. I’m sick os transition, transition, transition amd waiting for Wenger’s kids to come good.

  5. There you are. I had a sneaking feeling PSV would shade it.Now’s the momemt of truth for everyone including AW. Arsenal aren’t good enuf. The play based on speedy attack and pace would sooner or later be found out.
For god’s sake tighten the defence and have more defenders who are mobile and then you can play your attacking game.
The defence at corner kicks and set pieces has shown little improvement.
